Definition

Burns that involve damage or destruction of the skin to its full depth through to the underlying tissue, and covering at least 20% of the body's surface area.

Claim Requirements

Full thickness burns (third degree)
Covering at least 20% of body surface area
Damage through to underlying tissue

Exclusions

First or second degree burns
Burns covering less than 20% of body surface
