Definition
Burns that involve damage or destruction of the skin to its full depth through to the underlying tissue, and covering at least 20% of the body's surface area.
Claim Requirements
- Full thickness burns (third degree)
- Covering at least 20% of body surface area
- Damage through to underlying tissue
Exclusions
- First or second degree burns
- Burns covering less than 20% of body surface
