Death of brain tissue due to inadequate blood supply or haemorrhage within the skull resulting in permanent neurological deficit with persisting clinical symptoms lasting more than 24 hours.
Claim Requirements
- Confirmed by CT or MRI scan
- Symptoms lasting more than 24 hours
- Permanent neurological deficit documented
Exclusions
- Transient ischaemic attacks (TIA)
- Traumatic brain injury
- Migraine
- Vascular disease affecting the eye or optic nerve
